Tax Tip for September 2005

Lost Estimated Tax Payments

30,000 estimated tax payments sent to the San Francisco P O Box for the IRS were lost into the Bay off the San Mateo Bridge when a courier truck was involved in an auto accident on the bridge. The IRS is advising people that if the checks for their estimated payments do not clear by September 30th you should contact the Service.
